Quote, Song And Thoughts Of The Week | February 28th, 2021

“Sometimes it all feels like end it all, but when you remember you can still breathe, remember hope never dies, and also remember God is always alive to help the living!

I LOVE this song…

“Don’t lose hope”

I wish that I could change the weather

Just to see your smiling face

You know I’m with you come whatever

We’re gonna see the brighter days

Don’t lose hope when the world is against you

Every high, every low, I am for you

Don’t let go when you’re at the end of your rope

I’ll hold you, darlin’, don’t lose hope

I’ll stay here with you ’til the morning breaks

Until the light moves past the dark

I’m gonna see you through this heartache

You’re stronger than you think you are

Don’t lose hope when the world is against you

Every high, every low, I am for you

Don’t let go when you’re at the end of your rope

I’ll hold you, darlin’, don’t lose hope

We can make it out alive

Oh, you know that I believe it, uh-uh-uh

Even after the darkest night

Oh, the sun will shine and you’ll feel it

Oh, don’t lose hope, no, don’t lose hope

Don’t lose hope when the world is against you

Every high and every low, I am for you

Don’t let go when you’re at the end of your rope

I’ll hold you, darlin’, don’t lose hope

I’ll hold you, darlin’, don’t lose hope

I’ll hold you, darlin’, don’t lose hope

Hello my beautiful friends and readers! ❤️ I hope your week was better than mine. 😓 Too many crazy things to talk about, but it just seems like everything went wrong and I even threw in a self-injury. First, three of my cards hadn’t made it to the people I sent them to… 9 days later! I was so sad. I hope they all show up soon. I must have done something to my neck. For 3 days, I had a hard time turning my head. Driving was… hard. Thankfully, it got much better. I wasn’t sure I would be blogging this week as I burned my right hand with BOILING water on Monday night (I’m prone to accidents). I’m still not sure what exactly happened. I was cooking and I went to put pasta in the pot of boing water. The next thing I remember, it felt like my hand was down in the pot of water. Water was running off my hand. In fact, the water was jumping so high out of the big pot, it was even getting on the stovetop. Oh my goodness did my hand hurt and burn! I was afraid I was going to have to go to the emergency room and my skin was going to slide off three of my fingers.

I live in a COVID hotspot and you do not want to go anywhere near a hospital right now. Anyways, after keeping my hand in a bowl of cold water for awhile and using an ice pack, my hand wasn’t nearly as bad as it felt. It was swollen and red for about a day. It hurt and burned like crazy, but thank the good Lord, my skin did not fall off! I also find it amazing how much you can do with the non-dominant hand when you have no choice. After that, it was just a crazy, stressful week with lots of chronic pain and I’m so glad it is over!

Speaking of pain, I have decided to take one day a week to take care of me, relax and blog a little. My oldest daughter says I need to. She says I take care of everyone else and it is time I take care of myself. After “hitting a wall” so many times mentally, dealing with crippling anxiety, chronic pain, and being plain exhausted, I am taking her advice. I am clearing my schedule one day a week, accepting help (that is HARD to do) and practicing self-care/relaxation. Relaxation and rest do not come easy to me whatsoever. I sleep very little. My mind is always racing and I always have something I need or want to do. I do not know when to stop and I got to where I couldn’t relax long enough to watch a movie or read one chapter in a book. 23 years of going full speed as a mother and everything else has finally caught up to me. 😓 Welp, I have realized that I am NOT Wonder Woman and it is time to hit the brakes.

On another note, I’m REALLY trying to give up sugar. I HAVE to give it up. I was doing so well for about a week when my oldest daughter text me that her friend/former boss was helping his daughter sell cookies (I am always a sucker for fund raisers and my oldest daughter used to be a Girl Scout). She asked if I wanted any and I bought…. 7 boxes. I text her pictures of my order and then…

I haven’t done a “Favorite Things” post since I started over on my blog. Here are some things I am LOVING this month…

I bought my oldest daughter and myself some trial/travel size skincare from philosophy (philosophy.com). Oh my word, I LOVE the micro delivery face wash in this set. I use it on my face in the shower and it is hands down the BEST face scrub I have ever used in my life. I really like the purity facial cleanser. It takes my foundation right off and leaves my skin nice and clean. The purity lotion is nice, not my favorite face lotion, but a very close 2nd!

I wasn’t drinking enough water. I would sometimes go through my day, start feeling lightheaded, dizzy and very thirsty. So, I found this water bottle on Amazon and I LOVE it! It has lines on it with times so you can easily see if you have drank enough anytime of the day (H20COACH water bottle). It helps me remember to drink my water and refill my bottle at least once a day. It is so pretty!

I’ve been letting my hair grow out due to the lockdown. Salons are open now, but my Man hasn’t been able to convince me to get my hair cut. I’m afraid to have someone that close to my face! Plus, I have gotten used to my long hair. It is almost to my waist and my bangs are almost long enough to tuck behind my ears. He loves my long hair, he just likes it to be… full (think 1980’s or Stryper rock band hair), especially on top. I have very fine hair and it goes flat without layers and lots of styling product. The longer it is, the flatter it goes. It will still hold a curl and curls are his favorite. I’m more of a stick straight gal. But, I have a set of hot rollers and some new curling irons sitting in my bathroom just waiting to have a go at my stick straight, limp hair. I might have to go get a haircut so it will be bouncy and full again.

Here is to a better week! Hopefully, the pain will not be as bad, I will not eat as much sugar and I will keep my hand out of boiling water. 😀

Thank you so much for stopping by! 💋 I love you guys. 💕 May God bless you and keep you safe. 🙏🏻

“Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.” ~ Psalm 25:5

Hope you have a better week this week. The Lord has given me an idea for staying away from soda (a weakness I’ve been struggling with). When I succeed in not getting a soda, I put a dollar in a jar to give to some person or organization that is feeding the hungry. I don’t know if something like that might help you with your sugar struggle?

Girl you almost had lobster hands!!? I wonder why boiling water will do that sometimes. That kind of burn is the worst! 😣
Wow! I love the analogy you used with the tulips! That was so so encouraging! I’m loving my philosophy perfume! I can’t imagine how the food the skincare would be! Is it for sensitive , fragrance free no oil? I may have to try that! And I love your hair! It’s beautiful! 🥰🤗💜

      Lobster hands?!! 😁

Thank you! 😊 My mind is always going and sometimes, it produces things like that. 😂

Oh it is good Renee! I’m super sensitive and it does really well on my skin. It does smell really good, so I’m sure it probably has something in it. Not irritating to me at all though. And it is definitely not oily. You should try it!

I’m so glad you love the perfume ! 💕 I think you would love the body wash and body lotion to match.

You do? Thank you. 🙂 I don’t know how much longer I’ll have it like it is. Summer is coming and I’m sure I will cave! 😓 You hair is amazing!

Yes! The way lobsters are cooked, thrown alive into boiling water… your poor hand! 😢
This pst was definitely an encouragement to me, and I know it sure will be to all who read!
I would love to try the whole line of Philosophy! The fragrance is the only think that worries me though. I have had to use a lot of trial and error through the years.
Your hair would probably look good in a Lauren Daigle up-do! 😍 Thanks! I have started back taking biotin. It helps to thicken hair over a period of time.
