“How you live your life is up to you. You have to go out and grab the world by the horns. Rope it before it ties you down and decides for you.”  ~ Sarah Reijonen

Hey everybody! I hope you all are safe from the nasty storms that have been causing such devastation this past week. I used to live in some of the states that have gotten hit and it’s heart breaking to see on TV. I was chatting on here with my sweet friend Vanessa (check out her blog!) and she has some great photos of the storm damage. I’m so glad she is okay! I do not miss the storms I used to hide/run from, but I really miss living in “Fly over” States…

I had a BUSY week. We celebrated my favorite son-in-law’s birthday. 💕 I made him a Jello poke hole cake. I made it for him once when he was dating DollFace and he liked it so much that I make it for him twice a year: his birthday and Christmas. I told DollFace that you find the dessert a person loves you to make and you only make it twice a year. That way, it is special and they look forward to it. 😉 DollFace used to like my chocolate pie. I made it for her so many times. One day, she had coconut cream pie when she went out to eat with my father and that is her favorite now. I have never attempted coconut cream, so I buy her the one she loves from the grocery store. That is fine too! Whatever dessert they like, make it or buy it for your loved ones twice a year for their birthday and Christmas. Trust me, you will make them feel so special and very loved.

What is your favorite dessert? I would love to know! Please tell me in the comments down below.

My youngest daughter is looking forward to summer. She seems to feeling a little bit better I think. The pollen has been high here in the desert. I think we are all suffering and I hope it calms down soon. The trees/bushes are blooming and it’s beautiful. I just wish it didn’t bother us like it does. I am soooo looking forward to spending time with my daughter this summer. She is planning things she wants to do and I am ready. I am also looking forward to not having to get up at 5:30 or 5:45 a.m. five days a week until August. Knowing her, she will still get up and wake me. Please Jesus, let her sleep longer! Hahaha

Let’s see… oh yes, last week my Man showed up with a “peace offering” (a red rose, he was a bad boy). It was in this really cool vase with rocks/stones and a red bow. I’ll put it in the photos. I’ve never seen anything like it. He said he would’ve gotten me a whole bouquet, but he knew it would set my allergies off. I am known to say, “DO NOT buy me any flowers!” I LOVE flowers, especially roses and tulips. 💕 I just hate sinus infections. 😔

DollFace came over for our once a week “Girl’s Night”. We had pizza and snacks. She rented us a funny movie called Isn’t It Romantic and it was funny! 😂 It does have some bad language, but it was good. I was naughty and had soda with my pizza. That means I couldn’t stay awake long enough to paint my fingernails. I’m gonna have to try to get those done tonight. My Man likes them painted red and they are bare. I took the old polish off and well… that’s about how my whole week went, undone. 🤦🏻‍♀️😬

*The birthday cake I made for my favorite son-in-law, the pretty bushes that are blooming, the red rose from my Man, the saying I liked this week and my box of Goobers (my favorite movie snack) from Girl’s night.

I haven’t got to write anything much this week. I have almost finished up my “Mr. Bodyguard” series and will be posting those soon.

Oh! I’m planning to write a post celebrating this:

Thank you all so much! 💕 I love you guys!!! 💋Have a blessed week everyone and stay safe from the storms. 🙏🏻

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” ~ Romans 5:8

Thank you for the shout out! Haha! Yesterday night/early this morning was CRAZY!! A tornado came so close to my house it was unbelievable. This was the first time I actually kinda got nervous. It got really close to my church too. It slowly moved out of Tulsa and into Sapulpa. Sapulpa has so much damage right now it’s crazy. The tornado started in OKC and moved all the way up past into Kansas. The tornado hit a hotel and a RV park in OKC and it was fatal. I don’t know the death total but people were killed. Someone had to climb over a car in his hotel room!! That’s how crazy it was!

Yet again God had his hand of protection on me and my family. Oklahoma is in a very bad place right now. They are thinking the levy is going to break under all the pressure of the water and if it does….Lord, help us! And the rain isn’t even done yet. We are supposed to have more tornadoes this week.😭😭 I’m so sick of this!

On my goodness! That’s awful. 😭 I was in a flood once. I had to be rescued from the second story of my apartment building. I was just writing about it the other day for my blog. It’s part of my story. I had just had DollFace the day before and we had to get out a small widow. It was horrible. The ground floor/living room/kitchen were underwater and we were trapped upstairs in my loft bedroom. She was only one day old. We got out, but my purse was missing in the flood water and I had no money and no identification.

I’ve always hated storms after that and like you, I was so sick of the weather in the midwest. It just went on and on for days at a time, storm after storm. And I can’t stand to see the devastation and loss of life. It’s so senseless.

Hi Lydia! I’m going to work on it this week. I’m trying to decide what I should include in it. 🤔 I don’t even know if it’s a thing, I was just so happy. 😂 Any ideas or suggestions?

Great! I really have no idea… I just love celebrations though! 😉 Maybe write how you got your first follower and how they came after that. Then in the comments, we (your followers) can say everything they love about your blog! That’s just a suggestion!

I loved having girl’s night with you and I’m so glad we took the time to relax and watch a movie!!! 😃🤗

Your food is amazing and I’ll always love your chocolate pie even though I crossed over to coconut creme 😉 nobody can get enough of your food! ❤

There’s so much I miss about “home”, but then I remember the tornadoes and the snow 😬 those states are special though and will always have a place in our hearts ❤
