  • Optional: Ask your nominees 2-5 questions and/or answer any questions the person who nominated you asked you.
  • Optional: Copy and paste the Purpose of the Be Thou My Vision Tag from below into your post.

The Main Questions:

  1. What is your vision for your life, your blog, etc.?
  2. What do you think of when you think of your ‘inheritance’?
  3. What is your first response when something is beyond you?
  4. What is generally your very first thought about, when you wake up?
  5. (Optional:) What do you think of when you hear the phrase ‘dwelling in Christ’?
  6. (Optional:) What is something you have been dwelling on or thinking about more than you ought to? In other words, what is something that has been possibly getting in the way of God in your mind?

The Purpose of the Be Thou My Vision Tag:

The primary purpose of this tag is to edify, build up, and point to Christ. Many tags are filled with random questions like “What is your favorite ice cream flavor”, and while they are often quite fun, they can miss out on the big questions. This tag is meant to build us up in Christ and help us look to the High Ruler of all, our inheritance and our vision. It seems to be quite a big struggle in this age and time to lose sight of our purpose particularly when we are trying to build a platform. Often what started out for God, becomes something we are doing for us. Perhaps this tag will help us all to look to our Lord and pray that he would truly be our vision. That is what I pray for you. May God bless you and may you find that he truly is everything you will ever need.

Faith on the farm included the lyrics to this song to go along with the tag:

Lyrics to Be Thou My Vision

Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

My Answers to the questions:

  • What is your vision for your life, your blog, etc.?

I want to show love rather than expect love. I would like to make a difference in this world or have a lasting effect on people. I really want to be the person my daughters look to with pride when they say, “This is my Mom.” I want to be the one others come to for love, comfort, and understanding. I want to be a person who is not willing to win at the cost of another’s spirit. I strive to be a person who can feel pain and not want to hurt another. I want to have my deeds always match my words through the grace of God.

  • What do you think of when you think of your ‘inheritance’?
  • Something God gives you when you get to Heaven.
  •
  • What is your first response when something is beyond you?
  • I find myself in that situation daily! The only thing I know to do is give it over to God and pray.

  •
  • What is generally your very first thought about, when you wake up?
  • “What time is it?!!!” Then, I grab my phone and check the time if my alarm isn’t already going off.

  • (Optional:) What do you think of when you hear the phrase ‘dwelling in Christ’?
  • God with us, His presence surrounding us and our minds focused directly on Him.

  • (Optional:) What is something you have been dwelling on or thinking about more than you ought to? In other words, what is something that has been possibly getting in the way of God in your mind?

I dwell on my relationship with my Man way too much! Seriously, I do have really bad anxiety, so I am ALWAYS dwelling on anything and everything I shouldn’t. I’m believing for God to set me free from my past and help me get rid of my anxiety. I would love for Him to heal the deep emotional scars that are still present.

    This looks interesting! Thanks for the tag 🙂

    I’ll start on it soon. Thinking of your man is not bad as he should be very very high on your list of thoughts 🙂

    God will heal the scars you just have to completely open that closet door, then take the lid off the box and let him go through the contents as only He can. Talking to myself on this one too!

    Love ya sis! Have a great Easter Sunday!!

    Thank you for tagging me! I loved reading your answers, Mama. I’m so proud to have you as my mother, I couldn’t be more blessed. 😊❤ You are amazing and I am so sorry that you have suffered the past you have. However, you are the best person I know despite what you’ve been through and what you deal with daily 🤗
